FAQ
Everything people ask before putting $5 on the line.
What is BidKick?
A public leaderboard with exactly 10 positions. Every position is an ad — a link with its icon and description. The ranking is decided by one thing only: how much you paid. Highest bids sit on top, and everything updates live for everyone watching.
How much does it cost?
Bids are whole US dollars, minimum $5. Your bid must beat the board's lowest bid by at least $1 — the hero form always shows what it takes to grab #1 right now. You pay once via Stripe; no subscriptions.
Can someone kick my ad specifically?
No. Nobody can pick a victim. A new bid only ever pushes the lowest bid off a full board — everyone else just shifts down one rank. The only way to leave the board is to be its cheapest ad when someone new pays up.
What happens when I get kicked?
Your ad flies off the board (literally — there's an animation), and if you enabled notifications you get a push the moment it happens. Getting kicked doesn't erase you: the all-time Top Payers list remembers every dollar you ever put in.
Do I get a refund when I'm kicked?
No — all bids are final. One exception: if the board changed while your payment was in flight (someone beat you to it mid-checkout), your charge is reversed automatically in full. We never keep money for a spot you didn't get.
How long does my spot last?
Until someone outbids the board's lowest bid and you happen to be it. There's no timer, no expiry, no renewal fee. Some spots last hours; a strong bid can last a very long time.
What can I list?
A product or personal website (https only), an X handle like @yourname, or an App Store / Google Play link — store links automatically show your app's real name and icon. Not allowed: chat invites (Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord…), URL shorteners, and adult content. Tracking parameters get stripped from your link.
Do I need an account?
No accounts, no forms, no passwords. You submit one link and pay. Stripe collects your email during checkout and we keep it only as the spot's owner reference — it is never shown anywhere.
What's the list below the board?
An open, unbounded list for anyone who doesn't want to fight for the 10. From $5, pay what it's worth — entries are ranked by amount and never get kicked. The list only grows.
How do notifications work?
Allow notifications when the site asks (or after a bid) and you'll get a push when someone takes a position — or when your ad gets kicked. On iPhone, Apple requires the site to be installed first: open in Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen, then launch from there.
What's TV mode?
The 📺 icon next to LIVE (or bidkick.me/#tv) turns the board into a fullscreen dark live view — big rows, medals for the top three, live animations and the cha-ching sound. Made for office screens and streams.
